Every Dog Has Her Day: dog toys and the missing Artifact
Return a dragon toy in each of the seven zones, then interact with the dog in the Gap. That is why a guide may count eight encounters: the last one is the finish, not an eighth zone toy. Spoilers: later areas and the quest reward are named below. Routes were checked against the written guides linked in each section; this is not a firsthand playthrough report. Before taking the longer routes
Obtain Shift through The Incursion Fault and Reach through The Subway Fault. Pope's Research becomes available after The Hedron Link; progress it to reach the relevant Unknown islands. A missing traversal tool is a reason to continue that progression, not to keep repeating an impossible jump.

Find the toys by zone
Bring each toy back to the dog's bed and interact with her before moving on. Use the local landmarks below rather than treating a direction as relative to Dylan's camera.
Downtown
Search the southern edge of Downtown for the rooftop dog. Across from her, locate the roof above a dog-food advertisement: the toy is beside its stairwell door. Cross to that roof, retrieve it and bring it back to the bed.
Central
The dog is near East Park Station, above an alley crossed by lasers. The toy is on the ground beneath the illuminated Chowrap sign. Retrieve it, avoid the barriers and return to the rooftop.

West Incursion Zone
Look west of the Parking Garage where the city bends upward. From the dog's position, identify the nearby Chowrap billboard and the air-conditioning unit on the adjoining inverted rooftop. Shift across for the toy, then return to the dog's surface.
Evacuation Zone
Find the red-lit rooftop northeast of the Sinkhole, between folded buildings. The paired Chowrap signs identify the nearby inverted roof with the toy. Use the raised roof surfaces to reach it with Shift, then cross back to the dog.
The Park
The dog is near the Mold Factory door in the northeast. Her toy is on the higher roof served by an unpowered lift. At the marked electricity station, find the nearby breakable rooftop access and intermediate generators. Relay the charge through a generator, then into the lift's power supply. Ride up, collect the toy and return it.

Underpass
Find the dog between Halfway Trail and the Research Site. The toy is on the opposite-gravity ceiling above her. Use the raised approach by the pillar with orange pipes and a white radiator, then Shift onto the ceiling.
PowerPyx documents this return: jump toward the dog and drop the toy so the opposite gravity sends it toward her platform. Use Reach on the side ledge to get back, collect the dropped toy and take it to the bed. This is a documented route, not a claim that it is the only possible return.

Unknown
Find the dog near Tower Island on the northwest island. The toy is high on the opposite skyscraper. Reach the water tank and billboard, continue to the balcony's end, then Shift onto the inverted wall. Cross to the skull-marked building, climb onto the beams, change gravity again and turn right. The toy is near air ducts at the far end. Bring it back to the dog.
Finish in the Gap
After all seven returns, visit the Gap and interact with the dog again. The quest's documented rewards include Dog's Best Friend and the Untapped Trusted Spanner. Untapped Artifacts are crafted into usable Artifacts in the Gap; see Artifact basics.

Completed the quest but missing the Artifact?
Hotfix 1.4.2 addresses the missing reward and adds retroactive delivery for players who completed the quest without entering New Game+. The notes do not explain the exact trigger for that delivery. They do not establish that petting the dog again guarantees it.
Finish installing the update, check the quest state and reward, and contact Remedy Player Support if it is still missing. Include your platform, version, completion status and whether you have entered NG+. Do not overwrite a save to test a speculative fix.

Seven toys returned, but the quest is still open? Check the final Gap interaction before starting the route again.
The Park's charge expires on the way? Use the intermediate generator rather than treating a direct sprint as the only route.
Already in NG+ with no reward? The announced retroactive condition does not cover that situation. This guide cannot confirm a recovery method; preserve your saves and report it to support.
