Manhattan, the Gap and gravity anomalies
Manhattan is the field you explore; the Gap is the metaphysical space connected to Dylan. The city follows the game's fiction and traversal rules rather than a one-to-one real-world map.

Distinct zones and a central story
The developer describes expansive zones with side activities and optional discoveries. The West Incursion Zone is one early area shown in the February gameplay reveal.
Use the story to orient your next goal while letting optional discoveries inform the next upgrade or return trip.

The Gap
The Gap is connected to Dylan's psyche and supports Artifact crafting. The September design interview describes its stark concrete appearance as a reflection of his captivity.
Treat a visit as a chance to inspect your progression and plan the next test before returning to Manhattan.

Gravity anomalies
Orientation can change inside a Gravity Anomaly. A surface above you can become the route ahead. Reach and Shift are part of how Dylan navigates these spaces.
Before moving, look for the landing surface and how it connects to the next one. Repeatedly failing the same jump may mean you have misread the ground.

Navigation cues to recognize
The developer interview highlights FBC satellite dishes near many Fast Travel doors and deflated FBC balloons near map towers. Confirm the associated feature in-game when you spot one.
The Central provides a comparatively familiar New York baseline in the game's design. Familiar architecture and distorted spaces are intended to contrast.
